How do I get find the right government assistance?

#1. First: Decide if your problem involves a legal-, election-based, or a municipal or social service-type need.

#2. Then use the list below to determine if your problem is a neighborhood, city, state or U.S. federal level issue.

  • NEIGHBORHOOD LEVEL PROBLEMS or CONCERNS:  For assistance with Block Parties, Zoning variance problems, local development issues, volunteering for Trash Clean up, Youth programs, After School Programing, Domestic Violence Assistance, Registering to Vote/Checking your voter registration, Elder wellness, Record Expungement, graffiti abatement, town watch programs, etc., Go here….
  • AT THE LEVEL OF THE CITY: The agencies and departments of the Philadelphia city government (which your taxes pay for), along with your elected City Council Representatives (who serve your needs at City Hall) and, for electoral politics, the Ward Leader for the Democratic Party representing your area of the city (Ward 48 out of 66 Wards) can help you with matters involving streets, zoning, parking, taxes, permits, water, and much, much, more.
