PA State help

Who did we elect to be our state officials? What do they do for us?

State government agencies and departments can help you with your state-level issues and concerns. Your elected State Senators and House Representatives serve your needs in Harrisburg at the State Capital and in their District offices here in South Philadelphia. Remember, your state taxes pay for these services – they are yours, so make use of them!

*Once elected, these state leaders are bipartisan in thier legislative duties serving all those living and working in their Districts. For partisan electoral issues at the ‘state level’, contact the state Pennsylvania Democratic Party which deals with PA Democratic Party activities. For more on Democratic electoral operations at the state level see the bottom of this page.

YOUR STATE DEMOCRATIC PARTY LEADERS:

The Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee (PADSC) is the governing body of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. Founded in 1792, the Committee is responsible for directing and promoting the guiding principles and core values of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. The PADSC, whose members are elected to four-year terms meets three times each year. They elect a Chair, members of the Executive Board, hold nominating conventions for statewide candidates, pass and promote a platform, pass resolutions, and perform other party business. Under Chairman Jack Hanna, the professional staff raises money and coordinates strategies to elect Democrats up and down the ballot across the commonwealth.
